Product development has advanced enormously in recent years, the modular nature of
Carpet Tiles coupled with new recycled backings, along with our manufacturing partners
waste collection and recycling schemes, has allowed Carpet Tiles to really contribute in
reducing the impact on the environment, through waste reduction, extending lifecycle and
reducing the cost in service. Some products can even be collected and re-purposed, giving it
a whole new lifecycle.
Recently launched Carpet Tiles, engineered to provide a seamless, broadloom-like
appearance, provides greater scope for consideration in other sectors, such as Hospitality,
Leisure and Retail. The new technology allows for speed of installation and the convenience
of easily replacing damaged tiles (whilst still in service), without compromising the feeling of
luxury and sophistication.
Subfloor Preparation
The correct preparation of any subfloor is essential to the success and longevity of all
flooring installations and will provide for the best achievable finish. Better to spend a little
more on preparation, than have expensive finishes requiring replacement, before their full
lifecycle is achieved, or ruined due to the subfloor breaking down.
There are various elements linked preparing the subfloor; this may include Grinding, to
reduce height or removing unwanted contamination, Smoothing of which there are many
products and systems for different scenarios and Epoxy Damp Proof Membranes, which
provides protection from both residual construction moisture and rising moisture from
beneath.
A free bespoke survey is also part of the service.
Entrance Matting
Your flooring is a major investment and looking after it pays dividends when it comes to the
return on your investment. A key element that will assist in providing longevity, reduce the
cost in service, as well as reducing the risk of slips and falls, is the correct Entrance Matting
System.
Well-designed entrance matting, with the correct components and zoning, is crucial in
providing a safe and healthy environment, it reduces the amount of moisture, grit and debris
walked in to your building, which in turn reduces soiling throughout the building.
In line with The Building Regulations and British Standards, barrier matting is required to
help provide safe access for all users of buildings, including wheelchair users, in line with the
Equality Act 2010.
Diamond Flooring can provide a range of fully fabricated Primary matting systems with
aluminium scraper bars and wipers, along with Secondary matting solutions in sheet and tile
formats. Our in-depth knowledge allows us to advise which systems are most appropriate,
dependant on the type of facility, and the expected foot-fall, helping to maintain the value of
your asset.
Accessories & Trims
An essential feature of a high quality floor finish, is the various accessories required to
complete the installation; this is usually a combination of threshold and transition strips, stair
nosings and floor trims. One of the most frequent challenges a floor installation faces, is the
transition from one height of flooring to another, safely and without creating a trip hazard.
Diamond Flooring’s expertise in this area will help identify where this may occur and offer the
advice on the appropriate solutions, using accessories with subtle design features which
complement the floorings aesthetic charm.
Whilst flooring accessories are widely used to enhance the appearance of an installation,
they can also have a functional role too; they can be used to define specific areas of use
within a building or a room, provide safety when using staircases and to conceal expansion
and movement joints.
